PET-Xi programmes

GCSE Science Topic Focus

Targeted GCSE Science intervention that zeroes in on the topics holding your students back — and turns them into marks.

Marks where they matter most

Science is a broad specification, and students rarely lose marks evenly across it. PET-Xi Science Topic Focus is built to find the gaps and close them. We work with your school to identify the specific topics where your cohort is dropping marks — across biology, chemistry and physics — then deliver short, high-energy sessions that turn those gaps into confident answers.

It works for both combined science and triple science cohorts, with sessions tuned to the content and the question types that matter most for your students.

How it works

  • Diagnose — we look at where students are losing marks, by topic and by question type.
  • Focus — sessions concentrate on priority topics rather than re-teaching the whole specification.
  • Practise — students work through exam-style questions, required practicals and the techniques that secure the marks.
  • Build confidence — short, momentum-driven sessions that leave students feeling they can do it.

Designed around your timetable

Topic Focus is flexible by design. It can run as a series of in-school sessions, an intensive day, or a revision push in the run-up to exams. We work with your science department so sessions complement your own teaching rather than cut across it.

What you can expect

PET-Xi has delivered intensive subject intervention in schools for many years. Topic Focus brings that experience to GCSE Science, with sessions that are practical, well-paced and squarely aimed at exam performance.
