PET-Xi programmes
Key Stage 2 Topic Focus
Targeted Key Stage 2 intervention in maths and English that builds confidence ahead of the Year 6 SATs.
Confidence where it counts
The transition through Key Stage 2 and into the Year 6 SATs is a big step, and small gaps in maths or English can hold a child back from showing what they can really do. PET-Xi Key Stage 2 Topic Focus is built to close those gaps. We work with your school to identify the specific topics where pupils are losing ground, then deliver short, high-energy sessions that turn uncertainty into confidence.
Our tutors teach at a pace that keeps children engaged, with the warmth and structure that younger learners respond to.
How it works
- Diagnose — we look at where pupils need the most support, by topic and skill across maths and English.
- Focus — sessions concentrate on priority areas rather than re-covering the whole curriculum.
- Practise — pupils work through SATs-style questions and the techniques that build accuracy and speed.
- Build confidence — short, encouraging sessions that leave children feeling ready.
Designed around your school
Topic Focus is flexible by design. It can run as a series of in-school sessions, an intensive day, or a focused push in the run-up to SATs. We work with your staff so sessions complement your own teaching rather than cut across it.
What you can expect
PET-Xi has delivered intensive subject intervention in schools for many years. Topic Focus brings that experience to Key Stage 2, with sessions that are practical, well-paced and aimed squarely at helping Year 6 pupils perform at their best.
