PET-Xi programmes
GCSE History Topic Focus
Targeted GCSE History intervention that turns knowledge and source skills into exam marks.
Marks where they matter most
History asks students to recall detail, interpret sources and write to demand under exam conditions — and those are the points where marks slip away. PET-Xi History Topic Focus is built to find those gaps and close them. We work with your school to identify the specific topics and skills where your cohort is losing marks, then deliver short, high-energy sessions that turn content knowledge and source analysis into confident exam answers.
Our tutors know the exam-board content and the PET-Xi way of teaching: fast-paced, interactive and relentlessly focused on what the mark scheme rewards.
How it works
- Diagnose — we look at where students are dropping marks, by topic and by question type.
- Focus — sessions concentrate on priority topics and skills rather than re-teaching the whole course.
- Practise — students work through exam-style questions, source work and the techniques that secure the marks.
- Build confidence — short, momentum-driven sessions that leave students feeling they can do it.
Designed around your timetable
Topic Focus is flexible by design. It can run as a series of in-school sessions, an intensive day, or a revision push in the run-up to exams. We work with your history department so sessions complement your own teaching rather than cut across it.
What you can expect
PET-Xi has delivered intensive subject intervention in schools for many years. Topic Focus brings that experience to GCSE History, with sessions that are practical, well-paced and squarely aimed at exam performance.
[CONTENT TO SUPPLY: any verified outcome data, grade-impact figures or case studies PET-Xi wishes to cite here — do not publish performance claims without evidence.]
Talk to us about the topics your cohort needs most, and we’ll shape a programme around them.
