PET-Xi programmes

Alternative Provision

A fresh start for young people who aren't thriving in mainstream — built to re-engage, rebuild and move forward.

A different way back in

Some young people don’t thrive in a mainstream classroom — and when that happens, the answer isn’t to push harder, it’s to do things differently. PET-Xi alternative provision is designed for learners who have become disengaged, are at risk of exclusion, or need a setting that works with them rather than against them. Our approach is built on relationships, structure and the high-energy, hands-on teaching PET-Xi is known for.

We work alongside schools and local authorities to provide a route that keeps young people learning, supported and moving towards a positive next step.

Who it’s for

Alternative provision can suit young people who are struggling with attendance, finding mainstream difficult, or who need a more tailored environment to re-engage with education.

[CONTENT TO SUPPLY: the specific cohorts, age ranges and referral criteria PET-Xi’s alternative provision is designed for, and how placements are arranged and commissioned.]

How it works

Our provision focuses on rebuilding the habits and confidence that make learning possible again — attendance, engagement and self-belief — alongside meaningful learning and a clear sense of what comes next.

[CONTENT TO SUPPLY: delivery model, location(s), staffing, hours, qualifications or accreditations offered, and how progress is tracked and reported back to the commissioner.]

Working with you

We know alternative provision works best when it’s joined up with the referring school or authority. We’ll keep you informed on attendance, engagement and progress so the placement supports, rather than replaces, the wider plan for the young person.

[CONTENT TO SUPPLY: any verified outcome data or case studies — do not publish performance claims without evidence.]

Talk to us about a young person who needs a different way back in, and we’ll work out the right next step together.
